Indian Biryani Recipe

Indian biryani is an Indian rice dish that originated in Hyderabad, India. In this blog, I will share the simplest way to prepare an Indian biryani recipe. The name means “rice cooked in yogurt”. This recipe uses basmati rice, which has a nutty flavor and chewy texture.

Ingredients:

Rice – 1 cup uncooked Basmati rice Yogurt – 2 cups plain Greek yogurt Onion – 1 medium onion chopped Garlic – 4 cloves garlic minced

Basmati rice is a bowl of long-grain rice native to Pakistan and Afghanistan. It has a milder flavor than other types of rice, making it a good choice for dishes where you want the rice to be the star. We prefer basmati rice because it is easy to cook delicious biriyani.

Biryani is a special dish for different special occasions. Biryanis are often considered the national dish of India. There are many variations of biryanis, but most include meat, poultry, fish, lentils, nuts, spices, and herbs. You can use chicken, lamb, beef, shrimp, or tofu instead of the meat listed below.

Method:

First we should wash the rice properly. Drain well. In a large pot, heat oil and add onions. Saute till golden brown. Add ginger and garlic. Stir fry for 30 seconds then saute for 5 minutes. After that do add salt, turmeric powder and yogurt to mix well. Then cover it and cook for 20 minutes. Then remove cover and stir well. Then enjoy this delicious dish by serving hot.

Tips & Tricks

To make sure the rice cooks evenly, use a heavy bottomed pan. If using a nonstick pan, add some oil before adding the ingredients.
